One thing you need to learn to do by the time you’re 25 (latest) is when you ask someone on a date, pick the fucking venue. If you would like the company of a certain man or woman for an evening, the least you can do is Google a god damn restaurant. I don’t understand what is so hard about this. If it’s not a restaurant, pick a bar. Maybe you’re planning a rodeo date. Google “rodeo [city where you plan to go on a date].” If you’re new to a city and don’t know which bar or restaurant has the kind of vibe you’re looking for, there’s a website called Yelp that will give you a fairly good idea. Or you can just Google “cool bars in [city]” or “bars in [city]” or “most popular bars in [city]” or “under the radar bars in [city]” or combine any number of words before the word “bar” in your search query and have a gander at the results. If you don’t have internet access, go to your local library. They let you use the internet there.
