Notes from Public Transportation

As much as the CTA sucks and can eat a fat dick, I find my commutes to and from work/play to be some of the better parts of my days.  It’s just me and my thoughts alone with a bunch of other people and their thoughts.  It’s a weird thing, public transporation.  You’re sitting in very close proximity to strangers and you have no idea about their lives or their struggles or their hopes and desires.  For the time being, you’re both just trying to get to your destination cheap and fast. You never see these people again.

Yesterday on the bus to Grown Folks Stories, I typed up some of my thoughts on my phone during my ride for the purpose of bLoGgInG them.  Just free association, no central theme or trajectory.

  • “I wonder if a lesbian has ever wanted to lick my vagina.”
  • “Isn’t it weird how we’re all just dying one day at a time?”
  • “Black people pull off letterman jackets better than everyone.”
  • “I hope this black guy next to me can’t read this.”
  • “I think this homeless man is thinking about having sex with me.”
  • “Maybe I’ll give headbands another try soon.”

Should I continue this feature?
